New tarot for printing

🃏 More than 100 years after the illustration of the iconic Rider Waite Smith tarot, I am happy to share with you – available for free download – the tarot made by the illustrator Nuno Alexandre Vieira (@nuno_alexandre_vieira). Based on the RWS tarot, respecting the rich symbolism of the cards, he made a tarot deck with his cheerful and colorful style.

When I started studying tarot for real, it was the RWS tarot, illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith, in coordination with Arthur Waite, in 1909, that I fell in love with. The richness of the symbolism, the beauty of the illustrations, and the ease of use made using any other deck very difficult for me. And for many other people too, given that this has become the most popular tarot of all, surpassing even its predecessor, the Marseille tarot.

However, I wanted a tarot with the richness of RWS, but with features more “updated” by digital illustration. In this tarot, some details and symbolism of the cards are more visible (such as the camp on the 7 of Swords or the word PAX on the 4 of Swords).

And as each tarot is a product of its time, current times also call for a greater variety of human traits. Therefore, I am making this tarot available in 3 versions. Click on your choosen version to download the cards for printing:

– White (like Pamela’s)

Black

Multiracial (with cards from the two previous versions)

I believe that this new tarot will be useful for beginners, as the symbols – although they are the same as in the RWS deck – are a little more evident. All symbols, gestures, colors and positions have been carefully crafted to reflect well the symbolism of each card.

It is available to anyone who wants to print it out and use it for personal use, as one of my goals is to help make tarot even more accessible, so that everyone who is interested can benefit from this amazing tool.

Printing is authorized for personal, non-commercial use only. In the future, I intend to offer this deck in physical form as well.

🙏 I would like to thank the illustrator Nuno, who made this deck so beautiful.
